  • Here's the reissue of the Rhino/Handmade Records compilation originally released in 2003. It includes previously unreleased live tracks recorded at The Mabuhay Gardens in 1979, remixes of tracks on the "Code Blue" Warner Bros. album, tracks from "True Story" released on Index/Enigma Records, and Dean's very first recorded song, "We Were Wasted".

    "It’s just all so good. They cover a huge range of styles in their catalog and nail them all. Chord progressions and song structures are simultaneously polished and surprising. They cover a ton of ground sonically. The riffs and solos are super expressive and unique, excellent choices on tones throughout. Bass lines are fantastic, driving and simple when they need to be but that dude can get down. Drums are on point. Mixing was fantastic. I feel like they really bridge the gap between the best of the 70s and what was to come in the 80s, and seasoned it with some really rad ideas that stick out. So many bands sound the same, but the mix they have going is super unique. That tremolo work on the guitar is probably my fave. I don’t think I’ve really heard anyone else utilize it quite like that, and that coupled with the phrasing really makes the playing stand out.
